Dr Marty Hughes
Hi! I'm Marty — a scientist, educator, and parent.
I founded WellNessie to create narrative-based, immersive learning experiences that re-ignite curiosity and help students see connections across subjects. I believe in interdisciplinary learning — where science meets art, empathy meets technology, and imagination fuels understanding.
Good education should be available to everyone, no matter where they live or how they learn.
Growing up in Scotland, I was fortunate to receive a world-class education. The Scots have contributed enormously to the modern world through creativity, discovery, and a love of learning. Bringing a little of that spirit into classrooms across the globe, I hope to nurture a generation of thinkers who are curious, capable, and kind.
Ready not only for tomorrow’s challenges, but for life.

Kaz Hughes
Hello! My name is Kaz.
I graduated from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, in 2013 with a BEd (Hons) in Primary Education.
Over the past 12 years, I’ve had the privilege of working in both public and private schools across Scotland and Australia.
I am a passionate educator who greatly values having access to resources that make life a little easier—and learning more engaging—for my students.
Now a mum of two little ones, I hope that our WellNessie books and resources can be enjoyed by children of all ages, both at school and at home.
I also hope that our little Nessies will be embraced around the world as they help nurture well-rounded, happy individuals.
Together, let’s help raise a generation of kind, resilient, and confident little learners—one Nessie at a time.
